Types Of Leaves: A person has many needs to run a household. Which requires money to complete. Some people do business for this. So some people work there. Many people in the world work to earn their living. When working people get many facilities. Which also includes holidays. That means, if you are doing a job, the company also gives you holidays.. There are many types of holidays. People are not able to take some holidays throughout the year and they go waste. So there are some holidays like this. If you don’t take it, you get money for it. There are so many types of holidays
People working in private sector get many types of leaves. There are different rules for each type of leave. That means one can take them only on different occasions. Some of them are less while some are more in number. These include leaves like sick leave, casual leave, earned leave and privilege leave. If you have not completed your sick leave and casual leave during the calendar year. Then it will lapse. That means you will get new leaves next year. The old ones will become zero. But you get money for earned leaves.
casual leave
Casual leave is also called CL. If you suddenly need to take leave, then you have to apply for casual leave. The company gives you two to three days casual leave in a month.
sick leave
As its name suggests, sick leave. You can take it when your health worsens. This is also called medical leave. If you are not in a position to work. If you are unwell then you can apply for sick leave. But to take more than two sick leaves, you have to provide a medical certificate. You cannot get sick leave encashed any more. With the end of the year, sick leave also ends and it is not carried forward.
Earned Leave and Privilege Leave
Both earned leave and privilege leave can be further encashed. Along with this, if you are not able to use both these leaves. Then these can be carried forward to the next year. The leaves that people working in a company get in lieu of duty are called earned leave. Which is available 18 times a year. So, under the Shops and Establishment Act, people working in a shop or factory are given privilege leave which is 16.
Maternity and paternity leave
Maternity leave is given to women. In this, she can take leave for 84 days i.e. about 12 weeks. Out of these, 6 weeks leave can be taken after delivery. Men working in government jobs get paternity leave. Which is of 15 days. In which it can be taken after the birth of the child or till 6 months after birth. But till now no such rule has been implemented in private jobs.
leave without pay
As the name suggests. In Leave Without Pay, money is deducted when you take leave. If you don’t have any holidays left. But you have to take leave. So you can deduct the money and take leave. You will not get paid for the number of days you are on holidays.
